Chicken Paprikash with Polenta (Traditional Transylvanian Dish)

  • Chicken (any parts)

  • Garlic (2 cloves, chopped)

  • All-purpose flour (65 g / 2.3 oz)

  • Cornmeal (125 g / 4.4 oz)

  • Onion
  • Red sweet bell pepper

Stew:

  • Brown the chicken

  • Remove and add 1 medium onion + 1 red sweet bell pepper (both chopped)
  • Coll until soften
  • Add the chicken and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Cover with warm water
  • Simmer for ~40 mins or until cooked
  • Gradually mix 180 ml (6 fl oz) cold water with 65 g (2.3 oz) all-purpose flour
  • Remove the chicken and add the mix
  • Simmer for 10 minutes, set asite

Polenta:

  • Bring to a boil 500 ml (16.9 fl oz) water
  • Pinch of salt
  • When it boils, add 125 g (4.4 oz) cornmeal (polenta), cover and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Stir occasionally
